First Lego League
This year marks our first entry into the First Lego League (FLL). A global STEAM competition, FLL this year sees teams in three age groups explore renewable energy generation, the energy journey, and coding, to complete challenges, build complex models, and present their learning to an audience of experts. Over the past couple of months, our eager engineers have taken on leadership roles, worked as communications operatives, worn the engineers hat, and have worked as a team to prepare for the upcoming competition days. Regardless of how they perform on those days, this kind of project-based learning is an incredibly effective way of developing key skills, providing opportunities for leadership, and giving learners voice and choice.
