Wellbeing at WSF
At Winchester Private school, we believe that student wellbeing is the foundation of lifelong learning and success
Wellbeing Vision statement of WSF:
Our vision is to cultivate a safe and supportive atmosphere where everyone feels valued, heard, and empowered to thrive.
What We Offer: Programs and Initiatives
Counseling Services:
- One-to-one counseling and small group sessions led by a qualified school counselor.
- Support for issues such as anxiety, bullying, friendship challenges, emotional regulation, and academic stress.
Wellbeing Lessons and Workshops
- We follow Oxford Wellbeing curriculum that links sessions across all year levels focusing on mindfulness, emotional regulation, growth mindset, and healthy habits.
- Workshops and assemblies on topics such as stress management, anti- bullying ,online safety and healthy coping strategies.
Wellbeing Weeks & Campaigns
We participate in and organize themed weeks and awareness campaigns, including:
- World Mental Health Day – with guest speakers and classroom activities.
- Anti-Bullying Week – promoting kindness and inclusive behavior.
- Stress Awareness Week – offering tools for stress relief and balance.
Student Leadership and Voice
We value student voice in shaping a positive school culture:
- Wellbeing Ambassadors Program and student Counsel: Selected student leaders to promote peer wellbeing and act as role models of kindness and empathy.
- Student-led projects and campaigns allow learners to take ownership of their wellbeing and support one another.
Safe and Supportive Environment
Our school is a place where everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and included. We have robust systems in place to:
- Address concerns through safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Actively prevent and respond to bullying and peer conflict.
- Foster restorative conversations and build a culture of repair and respect.
- Surveys like PASS and Stress surveys are done periodically and results used to analyze and support students in need for counseling support.
Staff Wellbeing
We recognize the importance of staff mental health and emotional resilience:
- Professional development and training on student mental health and classroom wellbeing.
- Staff wellness initiatives and regular opportunities for reflection and support.
