Aisha Choksy

DEPUTY HEAD OF Primary

Ms Aisha Choksy is an accomplished senior leader with over 17 years of experience in education across the UK and Dubai, recognised for driving school improvement, curriculum innovation, and outstanding pupil outcomes. She holds a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), alongside the National Professional Qualifications for Senior Leadership (NPQSL) and National Professional Qualifications for Headship (NPQH).

 

Throughout her career, Ms Aisha has held progressive leadership roles including Vice Principal, Assistant Principal, and Head of Department. Her expertise spans teaching and learning, curriculum development, pastoral care, safeguarding, professional development, and she has successfully led both operational and strategic tasks. She is deeply committed to inclusive education and equipping both students and staff to achieve excellence.

 

At Star Academies, one of the UK’s highest-performing trusts, Ms Aisha has played a pivotal role in securing exceptional outcomes to ensure students have access to the best education. Most recently, during an Ofsted inspection at Star Academies, she was instrumental in leading the school to secure an Outstanding judgement. She has been part of multiple Ofsted inspections across her career, consistently driving high standards and embedding sustainable improvement strategies.

 

Her leadership achievements include driving improvement in teaching and learning through coaching-led professional development, implementing several playbooks to ensure consistency in practice and to provide students with a world-class education, applying cutting-edge research in education to enhance teaching strategies, curriculum design and professional development, revolutionising curriculum and assessment processes to secure sustained academic excellence, leading pastoral and well-being initiatives that improved attendance and reduced persistent absenteeism, and mentoring future leaders to ensure succession planning and long-term school improvement.

 

Awarded the Most Innovative Educator Award (2017) by The National Teachers Association in UK, Ms Aisha is highly regarded for her creative approaches to teaching, including her pioneering work in reading systems, curriculum playbooks, and remote learning provision. She has a proven record of raising standards in challenging contexts, particularly for pupils with SEND, EAL, and disadvantaged backgrounds.

 

A visionary and servant leader, Ms Aisha combines strategic thinking with empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based practice. She is committed to building strong partnerships with staff, parents, governors, and the wider community to ensure every child thrives academically, socially, and emotionally.

 

Outside of her professional career, Ms Aisha is passionate about researching and learning about cognitive science to deepen her understanding of how children learn best. Her hobbies include playing tennis and swimming, which contribute to her balanced and energetic approach to leadership.

 

Ms Aisha is very excited to be joining Winchester Private School as the Deputy Head of Primary, where she looks forward to contributing her expertise, passion, and vision to further strengthen the school’s culture of excellence and ensure every child has the opportunity to flourish.
