Lee Wilson
Assistant Principal (Teaching, Learning & Innovation)
I’m honored to introduce myself as the Assistant Head for Teaching, Learning and Innovation and I am incredibly excited to be part of the dynamic, learning focused community at WSF. I am a graduate of the Manchester Metropolitan University and after working in IT for a time, I retrained as a teacher to realize my ambition to work with children and young adults. I gained my PGCE from Lancaster University and more recently graduated from Monash University with a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. I arrived in Fujairah via Tokyo, where I led the implementation of an ambitious Digital Learning Plan. Prior to that, I spent several years in Singapore developing a technology curriculum, implementing whole-school change projects and guiding the school to Apple Distinguished School status. My international journey began in Kazakhstan where I worked with local teachers to explore new approaches to teaching, learning, and assessment.
I feel fortunate to occupy a role that enables me to work with the whole WSF community. Coaching dedicated educators to help them reflect on their pedagogical understanding is an absolute privilege. Guiding children as they explore new concepts and ideas is as rewarding as it is important. As we prepare learners to be global citizens for a very different world, I am excited to be part of a school where a growth mindset exists to make learning happen.
